Location: The ideal candidate can be based in St. John’s – Newfoundland and Labrador with expected travel within the North Atlantic Provinces and some overnight.

Responsibilities: Our Life Science Sales Specialists are responsible for the sales of clinical, research products and services specific to healthcare and life science within a defined territory, serving customers engaged in healthcare, academic, pharmaceutical, biomedical, and other fields of diagnostics, research and development. The Life Science Sales Specialists maintain effective customer relations, develop opportunities for growth within an existing customer base, and assure market penetration and profitability while achieving sales and profit forecasts. Life at Genetrics: 
  • Support multiple research sales representatives by providing information specific to life science, including technical information, product recommendations for customer applications, and other life science sales support
  • Develop and maintain effective customer relations with all customers and potential customers in the assigned territory. Seek out broader relationships within the account to help facilitate networking and prospecting
  • Work independently while also using available resources to meet customer needs. Work effectively with a cross-functional team of supplier and internal resources
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to meet assigned targets and expand business within assigned territory; maintain a pipeline of opportunities to meet or exceed sales objectives
  • Maintain awareness and understanding of competitor and industry activity and keep informed of new products/services and other general information of interest to customers. Incorporate this data into the business plan
  • Identify and Introduce new products & services to customers as applicable
  • Manage pricing within territory to control profitability, negotiate pricing as required
  • Maintain accurate reporting, records, and files vital for proper management of territory
  • Communicate with supervisor any customer issues or potential problems; perform other tasks assigned by manager
  • Be aware of supply and price trends and support customer inquiries and communications as required
  • Positively represent Genetrics represented brands at all times throughout customer locations

Education 
  • BSc at a minimum, preferably MSc or PhD Experience
  • 5+ years of sales experience in capital equipment, preferably in the healthcare, research laboratory industry OR lab experience
  • Strong technical and lab experience in clinical, molecular, protein and/or cell biology Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Excellent knowledge in Clinical, Proteomic, Genomic, Gene expression and/or tissue culture
  • Must be able to travel to the Middle East as well as US
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication, and presentation skills
  • Must have a Canadian valid driver’s license and vehicle
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office and the internet
  • Must possess the organizational skills to multi-task and meet deadlines as needed
  • Strong industry, pharmaceutical and science background preferred
  • Able and willing to travel to customer locations
